I am a strong pro-life, pro-family and pro-freedom candidate. I have lived in Mississauga for the past 57 years where I started a family and worked in the fire protection industry certifying first line of defense equipment. My corporate clients included the City of Mississauga and their 150+ buildings which I maintained for over two decades, with great pride during a 38-year career.
I have volunteered in the city (at the time, the town of Cooksville) as a teenager, maintaining the outdoor rink at Silverthorn Park; and currently maintain the school planters, for the 12th year in a row, at Shelter Bay Public School; additionally, I volunteered with the breakfast club for a few years.
In my desire to give back to the community, I took on additional challenges in the sports world, officiating hockey for 25 years, and baseball for 33 at some of the highest levels in Ontario for both. Three times, I was selected to officiate the National Women’s Hockey League Championship games, and for years volunteered with the Timmy Tyke hockey tournament
Other positions of responsibility were as a Hockey Supervisor/ instructor with the MTHL and MHL. Umpire in Chief baseball for years. Upon retiring from officiating, I volunteer-coached with Meadowvale and served as a board member liaising between the association and the OHL Mississauga Steelheads hockey team, in addition to serving as an off-ice official with the team for four years.
In 2020, I saw our city divided over unjustified COVID mandates (that are not law) and the response taken by our federal, provincial and municipal governments and health departments that affected me personally, and countless others across our city, and across our country. I decided to get involved and become the voice of those whose lives or livelihoods were damaged by the mandates, or who were injured as a result of taking the vaccine. Given the findings of the independent inquiry at www.NationalCitizensInquiry.ca, I felt it prudent that Mississauga holds our own so we can get down to the truth.
I ran for Mayor in 2022 and am running again in this by-election to make this happen. I would like to thank the thousands of Mississauga residents who voted in support of my candidacy in 2022 as an unknown name on a platform like no other. Now, let us not only do that, but also work together to bring common sense, decency, morals, family values, truth, trust, reconciliation, unity and love back to our community.
I wish everyone good health and encourage you to get out and celebrate the many events the City of Mississauga has planned for her 50th anniversary. This will be a great year!
David
